DHT-T100 is an under TV Speaker Base that is a simple, all-in-one sound upgrade solution that massively upgrades your TV watching experience. Easily connect the all-in-one system to your flat screen television and enjoy authoritative, compelling audio from your favorite TV shows, movies, games and music. With today’s flat panel TVs get slimmer and slimmer, so does their sound performance, as there is no room left to integrate good sounding drive units, which are too deep to fit in the cabinet. Even though picture quality of modern flat panel TV's is continuing to improve, the sound quality is getting worse, to the point where speech can be difficult to hear clearly.

The reason that the sound quality of the latest flat panel TV's is so poor is that the LCD panel covers the entire front surface of the TV, leaving no room on the front for speakers - they have to be put on the back panel instead, facing the wall behind. The sound bounces off the rear wall and then is reflected towards the listener, but the TV partially blocks this reflected sound, so some of the sound will not be heard. The lack of empty space and therefore air inside the TV enclosure severely limits the bass performance possible from TV integrated speakers, which explains the tinny sound quality often encountered by modern flat screen TV's. Both of these issues are solved by the Denon DHTT100  the sound from the DHT-T100 is directly beamed to the listener, and there is also a large enclosure full of air which is reflex loaded to generate deep, powerful bass. The speaker base reproduces the full audio range - it has two 5" woofers for clear reproduction of dialogue and vocals supplemented by twin bass ports, giving impressively deep bass. This gives the advantage that no separate subwoofer is needed for the enjoyment of terrific sounding bass. Twin 1" tweeters also reproduce high frequencies with amazing accuracy, so that special movie effects, such as breaking glass, can be clearly heard.

The Speaker Box is also very easy to install, as the TV can be placed directly on top of the speaker base, there are no holes needing to be drilled in the wall, as the speaker is strong enough to support TV's up to 50" screen width with a maximum weight of 27kg. It is connected to your TV using a single optical cable which connects to the optical digital audio output socket on your TV, which results in the best possible sound quality, and also supports surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital. There are two further audio inputs however, a coaxial digital input and a stereo analogue input - your TV becomes the hub of your entertainment system, and your other sources such as media player, set top box or games console connect directly to your TV. The sound of all these sources will now be reproduced by the speaker base, just mute your TV speakers for best possible sound quality.

In addition there is Dolby Digital Decoding, 5 Listening Modes with virtual surround sound as well as a Night Mode, which let you enjoy high fidelity sound late into the night without disturbing other family members. Virtual surround mode creates spacious sound quality using just two speakers rather than the more usual 5.1 speakers. The aptX Bluetooth feature let you stream music from a smartphone in CD quality and for other devices there is an 3.5 mm auxiliary input too. A small remote is included in the package to control volume and sound mode, but this is also able to be learned to your TV remote so that all commands can be accomplished from your main remote control, The optical input takes priority when other inputs have active inputs - after 5 minutes of no audio activity the speaker box automatically goes into a low power standby mode, thereby reducing energy consumption.
