Nagaoka MP-110 Cartridge
Nagaoka builds all high-precision micro-components within each cartridge specifically within their own factory, this includes the diamond tips, the specialist samarium cobalt magnets, right down to the cantilevers.
The basic body shape of all of Nagaoka's MP series cartridges are the same, with the main difference being the colour of the stylus on the front, making identification easier. The MP110 has a bright yellow finish and is the 2nd cartridge in the series. Replacing the classic Nagaoka MP-11 phono cartridge, the new Nagaoka MP-110 improves on the MP11's performance by using new materials and a SuperFine polished elliptical diamond bonded stylus mounted on a lightweight aluminium alloy cantilever, as well as a Carbon fibre reinforced plastic shoe. Much like the entry level MP100 the MP110 offers remarkable levels of detail for a cartridge of its price, but goes further with greater stereo imaging and depth of sound. High output is assured by using a powerful samarium cobalt magnet, making any standard MM phono input suitable for use with the Nagaoka MP110.

Hifi Gear thinks...
The MP-110 is a great upgrade option for a number of turntables thanks to a simple setup and mounting. The cartridge works well with turntables new and old and we have had great results with the Rega Planar 1, Planar 2 and the Project Debut carbon range in the shop as well as fitting the cartridge to a variety of other machines, including Thorens, Denon and Technics. Its also a highly durable cartridge, which will give you hundreds of hours of playback. When you think the sound is starting to deteriorate replacing the stylus is quick and easy. Simply turn off your amplifier and turntable, set the tonearm into its rest position and lock in place if available. Then slowly remove the stylus from the front by pulling gently.
Offering an improved sound stage, and greater depth and detail than a lot of competitors at similar price points, the Nagaoka is definitely worth a listen.
