The four passive and two active loudspeaker systems in the ATC Entry Series are the first to employ ATC’s SH25-76 tweeter. Sharing technology with the renowned ATC Soft Dome midrange drive unit the new tweeter employs a unique dual suspension system suppressing diaphragm rocking modes even at high output levels.

Manufactured in-house to exact tolerances, ATC’s drive units are legendary for their many design innovations. For example, all voice coils are edgewise wound ribbons, OFHC (oxygen-free high conductivity), and copper wire operating in a precision machined magnetic gap. The magnet assembly also has a hole through the pole allowing air to be vented from under the dust cap reducing air flow noise at low frequencies and at the same time increasing power handling and reliability.

The Super Linear Technology found in the SCM19 model is equally ground-breaking. It has long been recognised that the detrimental effects of magnetic hysteresis are a significant factor in the production of distortion in loudspeaker drive units. With the clever use of revolutionary materials developed for the communications industry, the problem has been solved for all time in the form of entry ATC’s SL drive units. They are unique not only in their ability to accurately reproduce piano but also in the precise manner they articulate the human voice.

Who are ATC

Formed in 1974 by Billy Woodman to manufacture custom drive units for the professional sound industry, ATC quickly made its mark with the 12″ PA75-314 driver, a design capable of handling more power and producing less distortion at a higher sound pressure level than any other unit on the market. Having established a market for reference quality precision-made monitors, a succession of smaller ATC speakers then evolved, ranging from SCM7s through 10s and 20s. Available in both active and passive versions, they offered elite ATC performance and reliability to many new customers.

Through ATC’s commitment to multi-channel mastering and its direct involvement with leading players in the professional audio industry including Sony Music and Telarc, ATC’s products are installed at some of the world’s most prestigious multi-channel studios and auditoria. Where ever the best is required you will find ATC.
