QUAD is hardly a new name to the hifi world, having developed some of the best sounding loudspeakers and electronic components on the market for almost 80 years. Quad hifi is immediately recognisable by its traditional aesthetic, yet ground-breaking sound and it's with the S Series that Quad plan to continue upholding their exemplary reputation.
The S Series was announced at Sound & Vision - The Bristol Show last month to an excited and engaged audience. This new range of loudspeaker is set for launch sometime this Spring, and will feature a high quality ribbon tweeter, meaning that we can expect the various S Series models to have an open and detailed high end, while the woofer seems to follow a similar construct to the Kevlar long-throw driver units found in other Quad speaker models.
The S Series will consist of two stand-mound models, two floorstanding models and a centre channel loudspeaker model, with prices ranging from £600 and upwards. One can expect this newly developed series of loudspeaker to offer a truly compelling sound, especially when listening to music as the traditional HiFi aspect of Quad will be at the forefront of this range's design philosophy. We have no doubt, however, that an S Series surround sound package will provide an immersive and realistic listening experience for all genres of film and television.
