Bowers & Wilkins a world-famous name within the hifi community and industry, has developed a vast number of loudspeaker models throughout the years and, winning the hearts of audio lovers and critics alike. B&W specialise in maintaining the balance between sound quality and price point, meaning that value for money and true quality are always at the forefront of the company's design process.

Their range of in-ceiling, in-wall and outdoor speakers follow this design philosophy and often incorporate truly innovative quirks and features.

The highly capable CWM8.3 D picks up where the 8.3 left off, offering a superlative audiophile performance from an almost invisible profile. The CWM8.3D is engineered to Bowers & Wilkins's extremely high standards to sit as their flagship in-wall design. this model utilises an intelligent 3-way configuration and features a decoupled Diamond dome tweeter (25mm in size), a 130mm Continuum FST midrange drive unit and two 180mm Aerofoil bass drivers.

The Diamond tweeter design is often regarded as the most accurate high-frequency drive unit available on the market today, comprised of a synthetic diamond diaphragm that's both exceptionally stiff and lightweight, top-end sounds are reproduced with a pure and lifelike response without distortion. The integration of Bowers & Wilkins' new Continuum FST driver technology means that the midrange elements of the audio source are portrayed to the same outstanding quality with lifelike dynamics. Similarly, the Aerofoil bass drivers are phenomenally light yet highly rigid, guaranteeing a controlled and liquid-like bass.

The backbox of the CWM8.3D follows a similar construction to their award-winning traditional 800D series loudspeakers, featuring their Matrix bracing for added rigidity and a heightened level of sonic performance. The backbox also provides the crossover for the speaker, with bi-wirable cables that are guided by the installer to the terminal panel through tubes before connecting to the baffle with a multi-pin connector. The CWM8.3 D has been built to the same dimensions as its predecessor and is compatible with the previous CWM8.3 backbox, making upgrading your discrete audiophile system an easy process.
