All signals in a hifi system are important and all of them must pass through a connector at some point, whether that's via Banana plugs into a speaker or RCA connections between a turntable and amplifier. At every connection, there is the possibility for significant signal loss, from corroded contacts to loose-fitting plugs. Even the cleanest and most polished contact will always have a rough and uneven surface at a microscopic level, with a poor contact area between the two surfaces.

Chord's Ohmic Fluid fills the gaps between two connections with a highly conductive polymer to create a larger contact area. This large contact area dramatically reduces resistance, increasing current and improving performance.
