The Michell Orbe SE or 'spider edition' is a plinth less version of the original Michell Orbe turntable with a reduced footprint, making it easier to locate within your home. The lack of plinth has enabled a lower price point to be held for the Michell Orbe SE, without sacrificing too many of the traditional Michell Orbe virtues. Still present is the tremendous bass punch and control, open airiness in the treble and expressive midrange with holographic imaging when used with a good moving coil cartridge and suitable arm.

This turntable can be upgraded to full Orbe specification with the easy addition of the double plinth and heavy acrylic dustcover at any time in the future should you wish. The 60mm deep plinth of the turntable is constructed from vinyl to provide the perfect matching interface to your records, especially when used with the supplied record clamp.

An oil lubricated inverted bearing with thrust ball and case hardened steel shell in a bronze housing supports the platter of the Michell Orbe SE with almost zero friction or play to ensure all of the information from the groove is transferred to the cartridge, leading to incredible levels of detail retrieval from your records. A precision, low noise, high torque DC motor drives the platter around its circumference by around section rubber drive belt.
