Naim are one of the most established hifi manufacturers in the world, producing some of the highest quality audio playback components available. They've recently taken a step away from their more traditional outlook on high fidelity separates products and have announced the release of a newly developed wireless speaker, named Mu-So, rivaling the likes of Bowers & Wilkins A7 and thanks to its multiroom functionality, Sonos itself. 

The speaker is titled the 'Muso' and includes a hefty price tag, as one would expect from a product designed, engineered and manufactured by Naim. The unit does boast some impressive features and specifications though, as you would also expect from Naim. At the heart of its power lies six highly capable. 75 watt digital amplifiers - each of which drive six custom-designed Naim speaker drivers. These drivers consist of two midrange units (both placed within their own enclosure), a pair of tweeters and a pair of 'racetrack' bass driver units. The 'Muso' offers support for high resolution audio formats, including WAV, FLAC and AIFF.

Hiding within the aluminium-covered MDF housing of the Muso is the same DSP (which stands for 'Digital Signal Processing') technology found within Naim's luxury in-car audio systems developed for Bentley. The volume control is located on the top face of the unit and comprises of touch sensitive buttons to select inputs, as well as pause, play and skip tracks. A dark grey grille is included as standard, but additional colours are available also. 

To the rear of the unit is the 'heatsink' to keep this unit cool under all circumstances, while a USB and a 3.5mm analogue input can be found to the side of the unit. This USB connection is able to play music from and charge Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod, as well as other compatible music players. The optical digital and Ethernet connections are located on the bottom face the speaker, to help keep cables out of the way and out of sight.There are two room EQ presets to allow you to adjust the sound when placing the unit close to a wall, or far away from a wall, as well as a 'loudness control' to emphasise and boost the bass and treble responses respectively.

The Naim Muso also has Spotify Connect compatibility, meaning that this highly impressive sound response is easily utilised by your favourite playlists, artists and albums saved to your Spotify Premium account.

Naim's award winning Mu-So premium wireless speaker solution saw great success following its release and continues to stun and wow Naim fans and newcomers alike. Naim have since made the decision to expand Mu-So as a series and so have developed the Mu-So 'Qb', a smaller, more compact speaker built from the design principles and technologies of the original Muso.

While building the MuSo Qb, Naim have retained their world famous level of attention to detail, ensuring only the best possible build quality from the contours of the glass-filled polymer casing, to the bass radiators that enable the Qb to form and shape huge low frequencies, despite it's compact size. The Mu-so Qb generates a vast 300 watts of power and keeps it's cool even when played at louder volumes. 

Technology-wise, the Muso Qb shares many of its components with its larger brother, the MuSo. Two high quality, microfibre tweeters have been angled and allow not only for a crisp and detailed high end, but also a wide and vast sound stage - despite it's small size. These work alongside two custom-built midrange drivers to form a punchy and dynamic sound with clear, powerful vocals. The midrange cones have also been positioned carefully to allow for a wider dispersion than normally found with a box this compact. Bass is deep and controlled, thanks to the Qb's two passive radiators which work in unison with a custom, Naim-specific woofer, driven by a beefy 100W amplifier. 

Connectivity is catered for and while simple to use, the Qb boasts an advanced range of different ways to connect music directly. These include wireless solutions like Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth (aptX Lossless Codec), Spotify Connect, TIDAL direct, UPnP (meaning you are able to connect to your server/network stored music on a NAS drive or PC), Internet Radio. In addition to these wireless options, you can send music directly to the Qb through traditional inputs including analogue, digital and USB. Every function of the Qb can be controlled via a free to download Android or iOS application.
