Audiophiles have long known that the best fidelity always comes from a separate preamplifier and power amplifier rather than a one box integrated amp - the Naim NAC 152 XS is the entry level pre-amp from this well loved manufacturer, and partners perfectly with the NAP155 XS or NAP200 power amplifiers.

Housed in low profile, black finish alloy casework with superb fit and finsh, the NAC 152 XS has been the subject of hundreds of hours of design effort on the part of Naim engineers, looking at every aspect of it's audio circuit and mechanical design. Lessons learned in mechanical decoupling of the printed circuit board from higher end models have now trickled down to the NAC 152XS, so that unwanted resonance caused by loudspeaker airwaves in the room do not disturb the sensitive electronics.

Six stereo analogue inputs are provided, five on the rear panel (connect via 5 pin DIN or stereo RCA phono sockets) plus a single 3.5mm mini jack input on the front fascia - all inputs are relay switched, physically very close to the input sockets, to create very short signal paths to ensure minimal signal degradation. A high quality ALPS blue stereo volume control is hard wired to the pcb using screened audio cable to continue the theme of short signal paths, and after the buffer amplifier stage the left and right audio channels are taken to the pre-amp output sockets.  - a nice feature here is that the outputs are available on both DIN and phono sockets, so you can connect to your Naim power amp using DIN, and simultaneously connect to a subwoofer using RCA's - great for a compact bookshelf speaker setup.

Remember that the NAC 152 XS requires an external power source to operate, either from a matching Naim power amp such as the NAP 155 XS or NAP200, or else from one of Naim's famous upgrade power supplies, either the FlatCap XS or Hi-Cap - glorious sound quality made even better by the addition of these PSU's.
