Ortofon 2Mr Black LVB 250 Moving Magnet Cartridge
The 2MR Black LVB 250 builds on the concept of the original 2M Black cartridge design to take one step further toward true high-end sound. Redefining what is possible from a moving magnet (MM) cartridge, the 2M Black LVB 250 is truly an exercise in technical excellence.
Key Features
- Flagship moving magnet cartridge capable of absolutely true-to-life musical reproduction
- Nude Shibata diamond stylus
- Superior boron cantilever
- Overhead mounting cartridge for installing into a headshell
- Moving magnet cartridge with removable stylus
- Utilises Ortofon's split-pole pin technology to reduce the eddy current and to get a flat frequency response, like with an MC cartridge
- Anti-resonant Hopelex body and improved internal engine with silver-plated copper wire
- Reduced-height 2MR cartridge body
Ortofon’s 2M Black LVB 250 MM Phono Cartridge is an enhanced version of the original 2M Black MM cartridges. It adds a Nude Shibata diamond stylus mounted on a Boron Cantilever as well as improved damping materials and processes to improve performance and further enhance the cartridge’s capabilities and technical excellence. The 2M Black LVB 250 is a celebration of what would have been Beethoven's 250th birthday.
Improved Stylus
The 2M Black LVB 250 uses a Nude Shibata diamond on a Boron cantilever, this set-up is used in Ortofon’s MC Cadenza Black cartridge, which is very popular and highly acclaimed. The Nude Shibata stylus has a slim and very polished profile that allows for an exceedingly wide contact area with record grooves, which ensures precise and detailed audio reproduction. This is connected to an extremely stiff and lightweight Boron cantilever, which adds remarkable transparency, speed and responsiveness to the sound.
Rubber Compound Formula
A new rubber compound for the suspension system has been developed to ensure optimal interaction between compliance and damping. The rubber compound formula is based on the Multi Wall Carbon Nano Tubes' highly efficient nanofiller. The new nanofiller compound offers desirable mechanical properties, which deliver better damping and an improved performance of the cartridge.
Energy Saving Materials
This rubber compound allows for a more environmentally friendly production. The rubber compounds formula is applied in a rubber polymer matrix and not in a powdered form, which makes the production process cleaner, non-polluting and energy-saving.
Compatibility
The 2M Black LVB 250 cartridge has a weight of 7.2 g and is compliant suited to most modern tonearms to allow it to be easily compatible with an endless array of modern High-End equipment.
