Project 9CC Evolution Tonearm

The 9CC Evolution Tonearm is a premium tonearm with a one-piece arm tube, fashioned from carbon fibre with an integrated headshell. The one-piece design allows for minimal resonance with the conical shape avoiding the potential for standing wave reflections. The 9CC has an inverted bearing design with four ABEC7 ballraces this results in the tonearm moving across the record groove smoothly. The TPE (Thermo-Plastic Elastomer) will eliminate unwanted resonances at the back of the tonearm. The 9CC  comes with a lowered counterweight rod, this is to help improve the tracking of warped records. The solid arm base allows for  VTA adjustments with a single-screw fixing on the armtube this will allow easy azimuth adjustments. Another brilliant feature the 9CC has to offer is the freedom you have when lift adjustments need to be used. The tonearm can be height adjusted to suit your personal preference. Inside of the tonearm, it is used with the highest quality, flexible internal wiring. 

Fitting Advice

If you wish to use the tonearm on a Linn turntable (or similar), you must purchase the arm with Pro-Ject's 5-Pin DIN Plug terminated at the tonearm base and an alternative mounting plate (selectable in the Options field). If you choose this option, Pro-Ject also produces a variety of 5-Pin/RCA and 5-Pin/XLR cables that will work with this connector.

The "Standard Flying Lead" version includes the tonearm with a standard mounting plate and inner-cables hanging loose, ready to be terminated into a connector or a junction box.

Pro-Ject tonearms are designed using Linn geometry.

Please Note: This tonearm is supplied internally wired and with multiple counterweights, one anti-skate weight and one mounting plate. No other accessories are included.

Who is Project?

Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990s, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least  £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
