To celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the world’s leading hi-fi stereo companies, Pro-Ject has introduced a new addition to the Debut Line: the Debut Pro. This turntable is the most audiophilic Debut yet. Pro-Ject has produced a new turntable and a completely new cartridge, the Pick-it Pro.

Pro-Ject Pick it PRO Balanced

Pro-Ject have been able to work closely alongside Ortofon to produce a very special cartridge, designed to deliver a more lively and robust sound with a big dynamic range, similar to that of traditional SPU cartridge designs. The Pick it Pro Balanced is also the first moving magnet cartridge from Pro-Ject that’s capable of supporting a True Balanced audio signal to compliant phono stages. The big advantage of a balanced connection is its ability to remove picked up noise and interferences.

8.6” One-Piece Carbon-Aluminium Tonearm

The Debut PRO features a one-piece carbon-aluminium sandwich tonearm. The carbon layer gives the tonearm a high degree of rigidity, while the inner aluminium tube takes over the damping of the tonearm. This super stiff and uniquely dampened tonearm construction ensures perfect tracking of the record groove.

Adjustable VTA and Azimuth

With the new tonearm of the Debut PRO, both the azimuth and the vertical tracking angle (VTA) can be set. The tonearm height can be continuously adjusted by loosening the two grub screws. These settings of the Debut PRO give you the option of adapting the tonearm to height changes allowing the use of different turntable mats or other cartridges to always achieve the best sound quality.

Nickel-Plated Aluminium Bearing Block

The nickel finish of the aluminium components results in a hard and resistant surface. This process enables Pro-Ject to produce high-quality and sustainable components and avoid plastics and similar materials that continue to age over time. The precision CNC milled parts are optically and perfectly coordinated, leading the Debut PRO B to its modern simple, elegant and unprecedented design.

Aluminium Dampened Platter

The die-cast aluminium platter gets reworked and precision balanced in an extra step to obtain a perfect platter. The heavy aluminium platter has a ring made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) on the inside that helps to dampen all resonances that minimise wow and flutter.

Who is Project?

Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990s, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least  £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
