ProJect RPM 10 Carbon Turntable
Project's RPM series is the turntable manufacturer's mid-level range and consists of a number of high-performance turntables. Models within the RPM series have taken home a vast number of excellent and highly-regarded awards from the likes of What Hifi, Hifi Choice and more.
The RPM 10 from ProJect uses a high-quality sandwich construction design for the plinth, comprised of a combination of MDF, carbon fibre and steel pellets. The plinth has been manufactured with an intelligent thermal treatment, while the sub-chassis is mass loaded and features decoupled magnetic feet to decrease potential resonance.
A 14.5kg Ground-IT Carbon equipment bass is included. This is also highly anti-resonant and acts as a stage for the RPM-10 Carbon to perform upon. The platter itself is extra-weighted and is designed to be acoustically inert, with TPE damping and a vinyl mat found on the top. Switching speed is done easily and without compromising quality, thanks to the precise DC-driven AC generator with integrated Speed Box technology. You can switch between 33 and 45 RPM easily, with 78 RPM being an optional feature.
A 10" carbon-fibre 10CC Evolution tonearm is included with the ProJect RPM 10 Carbon turntable, pre-mounted to the unit. An optional Cadenza Black cartridge from Ortofon can be included at a discounted price when purchasing this turntable.
Who is Project?
Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990s, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
