Rotel RC-1572 Mk2 Preamplifier
These two powerhouses are nothing short of being spectacular, we've done a fair amount of demonstrations in the past with these two and they fit just like bread and butter, the sheer performance these two dishes out is quite remarkable, obviously when going with a pre/power setup, you're going to get better quality than an integrated amplifier, but this bundle is more catered to those who are more invested in their hifi or for people who want that extra performance. This is the starting point of Rotels' pre/power
The RC-1572 has been designed and engineered to sit at the heart and brains of an uncompromising audiophile stereo system. The 1572 features many of the features and technological advances found in the company's flagship RC-1590 preamplifier but sits at a more comfortable price point. Featuring the same 32bit/768kHz stereo DAC chipset, the RC-1572 is capable of handling ultra high-resolution digital signals while the relay switching for analogue sources means that the signal path is left intact, whereas lesser preamps use an IC based switch which can compromise the integrity of those signals.
A large toroidal transformer and a carefully regulated power supply guarantee that the current and voltage requirements of each stage are precise and uncompromising. Pair this technology with the premium circuitry components used by Rotel in this preamplifier and the careful routing of all low-level signals and the result is a pure and dynamic sound response.
The RC-1572 is one of the most flexible machines on the market when considering connectivity. It features four digital inputs (2 coaxial RCA and 2 optical Toslink) meaning that an immediate upgrade is achievable from older CD players and the sound of your television can be dramatically enhanced by your stereo system. The RC-1572 also features a PC-USB input to support DSD files and CD quality lossless aptX Bluetooth for streaming music wirelessly from quality smart devices.
A range of analogue inputs is also provided, including balanced XLR connectors, four pairs of traditional unbalanced RCA inputs and an integrated Moving Magnet phonostage for use with turntables. As for outputs, both XLR and single-ended options are present as well as a mono subwoofer out.
Rotel RB-1552MKII Stereo Power Amplifier
The Rotel RB-1552mkII is the first step on Rotels power amp ladder, but just because it's the baby of the group you should not underestimate its abilities. Boasting a more than capable 130w per channel, balanced and unbalanced connectivity & class A/B design this is no slouch. If you are looking to add a little more power to your system the 1552mkII should definitely be on your list to listen to.
Pairing this with the RC-1572 (link here) gives you a great combination of power, balance & connectivity. Both offer the warmth of sound that customers associate with Rotel, without adding anything to the music.
Rotel's RB-1552 has been enhanced and improved in the form of an even more capable class A/B 'MKII' power amplifier, featuring 130 watts per channel. It's been carefully and intricately designed to be durable and robust while taking care to delicately extract every last element of even the most complex musical recordings.
Rotel's highly attentive engineers are able to arrange, align and construct components to form a product that performs with such ability that rival manufacturers could be given the same resources and struggle to achieve the same result. Rotel claim this is down to their unique 'Balanced Design Concept', and to many listeners - this care and attention to detail are what sets Rotel out from other manufacturers of a similar product. Each stage of the design process is precisely considered to result in the best possible audio performance, from the selection of an over-sized power supply, complete with a highly efficient, low magnetic field toroidal transformer - right down to the multiple, high-current bipolar output transistors.
Circuit topology within the RB-1552MKII has been planned, implemented, evaluated and adjusted to offer the best possible results. Featuring left, and right power rectification stages and decoupling, this unit is effectively a mono-block design. The amplifier utilises Rotel 'slit-foil' capacitors;- these provide plenty of reserve energy for extremely dynamic audio passages and are quick to replenish themselves, thanks to the nature of their unique design.
Input options include a balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA connections. This stereo amplifier has been engineered to provide the optimum sound quality, at an affordable price; retaining the same philosophy Rotel have expressed for over 50 years.
