With a number of new features and optional extras, you can set up the R1 exactly how you like - time, radio station, setup information are clearly seen on a large format display which automatically adjusts it's brightness to suit the ambient light level.

An exclusive rotodial control sits on top of the unit with a soft blue illumination, and is the main interface to control the R1 radio functions - the ergonomically designed rotary control can be rotated to choose a setting and then click pushed to confirm the setting.

A front panel headphone socket is ideal for private listening, whilst a line level stereo input allows easy connection of stereo sources such as iDevices, Smartphone or TV via a 3.5 mini jack cable.

Placing batteries inside a radio eats into the available space for circuitry and speaker, and often results in poor sound quality - with the Ruark R1 an optional extra is a rechargeable battery pack which neatly attaches to the back panel, preserving that all important internal volume inside the cabinet for the speaker and giving hours of mains free listening, ideal for picnics, barbeques or holidays on the beach.

Adding further to the R1's appeal, Ruark have designed a complimentary, hand stiched leather carrying case to protect and aid portability called the Carry Pack, bringing an inspired retro feel to the R1, further enhancing it's design.
