The IE 900 features a triple-chamber absorber system which uses three chambers of acoustic vortex milled into the nozzle to completely counter the high-frequency sounds at lower volumes. It also features a unique single-driver X3R transducer, which is a newly refined version of Sennheiser's 7mm Extra Wide Transducer. Rather than using multiple drivers, which can cause phase issues, the IE 900 uses Sennheiser’s highest quality, 7mm transducers. Extracting the maximum ability from these single drivers, the IE900 deploys a sophisticated, three-part Helmholtz resonator. Known as XR3, these tiny channels are milled directly into the housings and help disperse resonance – giving you a wonderfully natural and lifelike sound quality.
