Wharfedale's Denton 85, marks the 85th anniversary of one of their most famous and popular loudspeakers to date; the Denton.

Wharfedale was founded in 1932 by Gilbert Briggs, who turned the company into one of the most famous loudspeaker brands in the world by concentrating on quality and value for money. The Denton exemplified this, balancing high-quality craftsmanship, natural sound quality and affordability inside a compact loudspeaker that was bought in its millions right across the globe. The original Denton went on to further other models based on its highly popular formula, the Denton 3 being the last of the line until now!

The original Denton was widely known for bringing fantastic, natural sound and quality craftsmanship to an audience who previously didn't have access to such high-quality hifi, thanks to Denton's affordability. The newly revised speaker still maintains this legacy, while upgrading almost every component, with modern materials and techniques. Using Wharfedale's new woven Kevlar cone, mounted to a rigid die-cast chassis, allowing for rich, detailed bass and midrange. The Denton also features a woven textile, soft dome tweeter with a high flux ferrite magnet, for smooth and detailed highs.
